This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and manage the complete Software Development Lifecycle, including goals and requirements gathering, design and review, implementation, operationalization and deployment, as well as support and maintenance.
• Oversee feature design, engage with stakeholders for reviews, iterate based on feedback, and strive for consensus.
• Thoroughly document design decisions and operational knowledge to ensure the successful deployment and management of the software you create.
• Ensure comprehensive testing and production readiness for unit, integration, and performance aspects of your feature ownership area.
• Set a high standard for technical excellence and take pride in the quality of the software you produce.
• Design and construct multi-component, distributed systems that function at scale.
• Methodically investigate issues to uncover root causes.
• Assess performance and reliability implications of design decisions at scale and make necessary trade-offs.
• Participate in the team’s on-call rotation.
• Acquire expert-level knowledge of architecture and services within your assigned domain, with strong command over all elements of the Temporal ecosystem, offering a rich opportunity for a variety of technical experiences.
• Explore and understand how to effectively utilize Temporal’s software to support our mission.
• Gain a deep understanding of the needs of both internal developers at Temporal and external customers, and use that insight for product development and feature design.
• Lead and mentor fellow team members, actively contributing to their growth.
• Engage in design reviews and contribute to the design of additional features.

• Proven experience in developing horizontally scalable, resilient, and high-performance distributed systems in a production setting.
• Background in designing, implementing, deploying, and supporting large-scale, geographically distributed observability and/or high-throughput data streaming or processing pipelines, or similar technologies.
• Expertise in one or more high-level programming languages, preferably Go.
• Advanced skills in Kubernetes.
• Proficient in query development, preferably SQL.
• Hands-on experience with one or more cloud providers, preferably AWS or GCP.
• Comprehensive understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and networking principles.
• Familiarity with best practices concerning monitoring, instrumentation, and infrastructure configuration.
