Staff Software Engineer – DC Tech Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +20 more states.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and refine efficient ETLs utilizing PySpark and DBT to handle extensive customer datasets.

• Establish the technical vision for DC data architecture, guide engineers, and supervise external contractors to guarantee the team produces high-quality, practical solutions that meet both current and future requirements.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and applied science teams to define project scopes and deliver data solutions that tackle real-world issues related to customer data quality and product feature specifications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in designing and managing ETLs that handle large-scale datasets.

• Proficient in Python, PySpark, SQL, with experience using platforms/tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, or DBT.

• Over 2 years of experience in a technical leadership role (e.g., Tech Lead or Engineering Manager), with a commitment to mentoring and aiding others in their development.

• Strong analytical skills and the capability to navigate ambiguous or incomplete requirements to deliver tangible, impactful solutions.

• A results-oriented mindset—adept at balancing technical precision with the necessity to accomplish tasks efficiently.

• Experience working with complex, unrefined datasets and discovering innovative methods for their processing and analysis.

• An ability to identify opportunities for tooling or automation that can streamline workflows and minimize manual effort.
