This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to establish and maintain exceptional standards for system architecture, code quality, performance, scalability, and security within the team.
• Work closely with product and cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver solutions that fulfill customer and business objectives.
• Spearhead the design and implementation of complex, high-impact features and systems, guiding them from initial concept to production.
• Take ownership of and continuously enhance the reliability, scalability, and performance of existing systems, proactively identifying and mitigating bottlenecks and risks.
• Provide mentorship to engineers through technical advice, code reviews, and promoting best practices, thereby elevating the team's overall capabilities.
• Shape architectural decisions across various services or teams, ensuring alignment with the long-term platform strategy.
• Enhance system observability by implementing metrics, logging, alerting, and incorporating learnings from incidents.
• Identify opportunities to optimize workflows through AI or automation tools (e.g., document summarization, task routing, or data parsing).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 8 years of experience in Java or similar object-oriented programming.
• Proficiency in relational database design and querying, utilizing both SQL and ORM.
• Familiarity with AWS or other public cloud platforms.
• Preference for modern Java frameworks, particularly Spring Boot.
• Experience in designing and managing distributed systems in production settings.
• Comfort with utilizing or learning AI-supported tools (e.g., ChatGPT, CoPilot, or role-specific tools) to enhance daily operations.
• A proactive and inquisitive mindset, with a willingness to experiment with new technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, demonstrating sound judgment and creativity in developing solutions.
• Proven ability to excel in fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly changing environments.
• Capability to work efficiently in a remote-first setting, ensuring high-quality virtual communication with minimal distractions.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for work purposes.
