Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the architecture and ongoing development of a significant segment of the entity data platform.

• Create systems capable of processing substantial amounts of diverse vendor data with exceptional reliability, timeliness, and precision.

• Minimize manual validation efforts through AI-supported resolutions, confidence scoring, provenance tracking, and deterministic matching protocols.

• Define clear agreements for accuracy and traceability — such as identifying the source of a field and the rationale behind entity matches or creations.

• Harmonize AI-driven methods with rules-based strategies to enhance reliability and clarity.

• Facilitate comprehensive integrations encompassing ingestion, matching, entity creation, and delivery.

• Address production issues within your domain; enhance observability and reliability through continuous improvement.

• Establish engineering standards, mentor fellow engineers, and collaborate with product teams and downstream stakeholders regarding quality expectations and success metrics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in building and managing large-scale production systems.

• Demonstrated expertise in data ingestion, entity resolution, matching, or normalization at scale.

• Profound knowledge in one or more areas: distributed systems, data pipelines, reference data platforms, platform engineering, or AI-driven classification and validation.

• Strong abilities in coding, system design, and architectural patterns.

• Capability to design reliable systems that merge probabilistic (AI) and deterministic methodologies.

• Proven excellence in delivery: incident management, observability, and sustainable reliability enhancements.

• Effective application of AI, testing, automation, and tools to ensure confident delivery.

• History of establishing standards, influencing technical choices, and uplifting peers through documentation and mentorship.

• Comprehensive ownership from integration to entity creation and operational readiness.

• Familiarity with corporate or financial reference data, or vendor reconciliation (preferred).

• Experience with provenance, lineage, confidence scoring, or quarantine/resolution processes (preferred).

• Expertise in end-to-end integration of new data vendors (preferred).

• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and internal platforms utilized across teams (preferred).
