This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and develop high-quality APIs and services for the global adaptation of Life360 — services that are essential and truly beneficial.
• Collaborate with AI (Claude Code) as a key partner — your main workflow will involve coordinating agents to create specifications, generate code and tests, verify outcomes, and conduct reviews.
• Assist in defining and formalizing AI-Native engineering practices for the International team, creating playbooks that can be adopted by the wider organization.
• Engage in full-stack development as necessary — delivering polished, efficient, and dependable experiences to tens of millions of users.
• Work closely with product managers and designers to transform complex user challenges into elegant, scalable engineering solutions.
• Contribute to architectural choices, code evaluations, and the promotion of a culture centered on craftsmanship and ongoing enhancement.
• Take part in on-call rotations and incident response efforts.
• Employ agentic workflows to significantly boost the delivery of successful outcomes — accelerating progress without compromising quality.
• Maintain a high standard for quality from start to finish: you define what "done" means, instrument your work for observability, and consider post-launch performance as part of your responsibilities — not someone else's duty.
• Mentor fellow team members and participate in team processes, technical standards, and the evolution of the team's AI-native engineering practices.
• Ensure performance, reliability, and accessibility across the features you oversee.
• Over 8 years of experience in developing and managing high-quality, consumer-scale services.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience with prompting, assessing, and building using LLMs.
• Strong expertise in cloud development with modern Java, Kubernetes, AWS, and streaming technologies.
• Extensive experience with agentic workflows, prompt engineering, context window management, and MCP/function calling.
• A proven history of utilizing AI tools to enhance your output — not merely as autocomplete, but as a true development collaborator.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills — you collaborate effectively with product, design, and platform engineers.
• A genuine enthusiasm for defining what it means to be AI-Native — you’re eager to create the playbook rather than waiting for it.
• Empathy for our international users, including those with lower-end mobile devices and inconsistent network access. Crafting highly localized experiences is essential for delivering the value of Life360 to global markets.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical field, or equivalent experience.
