Staff Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute mid to long-term security strategies that align with business objectives and technology roadmaps to ensure comprehensive protection of digital assets.

• Identify, evaluate, and manage security risks while creating strategies to mitigate potential threats and vulnerabilities.

• Oversee the transition from managed detection and response services to an in-house solution, ensuring smooth operational change and continuity.

• Create and manage an on-call incident response protocol to guarantee a prompt and effective reaction to security incidents.

• Collaborate with the Privacy team to establish essential data security practices and policies.

• Offer practical expertise to achieve and maintain PCI DSS certification.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Security Engineering roles.

• Proven ability to effectively lead large-scale security projects and initiatives.

• Established record in implementing data security initiatives that comply with industry standards.

• Hands-on experience in incident response with a history of managing and mitigating security incidents successfully.

• Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards and frameworks, including GDPR, PCI-DSS, or ISO 27001.

• Strong programming skills, particularly in security-oriented development.

• Demonstrated expertise in using Datadog and PagerDuty for detection and response operations.

• Comprehensive knowledge of AWS security frameworks, practices, and tools for safeguarding cloud-hosted environments.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex security issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
