Staff SAP Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Join our team as a Staff SAP Engineer, serving as the foremost technical authority for the Finance and Accounting divisions at Qonto.

• Take full ownership of our SAP integration ecosystem, ensuring quality after migration and adapting it to support Qonto's expansion across Europe.

• Address complex integration challenges that span SAP and our wider corporate technology environment, influence architectural decisions, establish quality benchmarks, and act as the primary technical liaison for Finance.

• Manage the relationship with Finance: Become the principal technical contact for the Accounting and Finance teams. Interpret business requirements into architectural solutions and maintain stakeholder confidence in the project roadmap.

• Challenge and guide integrators: Collaborate with external integrators (PwC, MeltOne, MSG) with a critical perspective. Recognize when to push back, redesign, or internalize tasks.

• Innovate and enhance integrations: Develop REST/OData APIs, middleware connectors, and compliance frameworks across SAP, Workday, ADP, Google Workspace, and Slack.

• Integrate AI into your daily responsibilities: Leverage tools like Claude to expedite designs, produce cleaner code, and creatively solve challenges. Assist the team in embracing contemporary AI-driven engineering methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of hands-on SAP experience (preferably with S/4HANA Public Cloud, ABAP, RAP/CDS) and a proven track record of designing and implementing integrations.

• Staff mindset: You understand not just what to deliver, but how to achieve it. You work with significant independence, foresee potential issues, and prioritize effectively.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills: You can articulate complex technical decisions to non-technical Finance teams and know when to assertively challenge integrators.

• AI-savvy engineer: You actively explore AI tools (Claude, Copilot, Joule), critically evaluate their outputs, and assist teams in adopting innovative practices. A lack of interest in AI by 2026 will be concerning.

• Collaborative leader: You openly share knowledge, foster the growth of your teammates, and excel in environments that allow for autonomy.
