📋 Description

• Define and enhance the mobile architecture and cross-platform strategy, emphasizing the expansion of KMM and Compose Multiplatform throughout the organization.

• Lead intricate technical design and architectural choices, weighing speed, scalability, maintainability, and user experience.

• Develop and contribute to shared mobile platforms, libraries, and reusable components, fostering consistency and efficiency across teams.

• Deliver impactful features and platform enhancements through hands-on work, particularly utilizing Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.

• Promote the adoption of best practices in mobile engineering, including modularization, state management, testing, and performance optimization.

• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to create intuitive, high-performance user experiences.

• Identify and act on opportunities to decrease technical debt, enhance system design, and facilitate quicker iteration across teams.

• Take ownership of and enhance the developer experience, encompassing tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes.

• Establish and influence standards for mobile observability, performance monitoring, and reliability.

• Play a crucial role in incident response and on-call protocols, contributing to improved production stability and response efficiency.

• Mentor and guide engineers across teams, fostering a robust culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

• Influence engineering direction across squads, aligning teams to a unified mobile platform vision.

• Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and enhancing the technical standards across the organization.

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the iCasino product, customer segments, and how we offer entertainment-first experiences at scale.

• Be open to occasional travel to Fanatics offices and events for planning, collaboration, and team-building activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with extensive expertise in mobile development and strong proficiency in Kotlin.

• Significant hands-on experience in developing production mobile applications using Jetpack Compose.

• Proven experience with or ownership of Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM) and/or Compose Multiplatform in real-world settings.

• Strong understanding of mobile architecture, app lifecycle, state management, and performance optimization at scale.

• Demonstrated experience in leading technical direction and architectural decisions as a senior individual contributor.

• History of delivering scalable, maintainable systems in complex, fast-paced environments.

• Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities, including ownership and resolution of production incidents.

• Capacity to influence and collaborate across teams, aligning stakeholders on technical strategy and trade-offs.

• Clear and effective communicator—comfortable interacting with engineers, product managers, and leadership.

• Experience working in fast-paced, product-driven environments with shifting priorities.
