Staff Gameplay Animator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Develop high-quality animated content and integrate it into a game engine with minimal supervision.

• Collaborate with the Design team to craft engaging player experiences.

• Take ownership of extensive character animation deliverables, encompassing locomotion, abilities, interactions, and emotes.

• Provide mentorship to fellow animators regarding animation style and implementation techniques.

• Work alongside production to estimate animation tasks and ensure timely delivery of animation work.

• Partner with Art Direction and Animation Leadership to establish Animation Style and Quality standards.

• Document animation processes and best practices for reference.

• Engage in all phases of gameplay animation, from the initial character movement concepts to the final animated sequences.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create a new universe and franchise at PlayStation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in keyframing stylized gameplay animation, evidenced by professional or personal projects.

• Extensive experience in character animation using Maya.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capability to work efficiently within a team setting.

• Familiarity with animation systems in Unreal Engine.

• Solid understanding of animation principles and the ability to apply them to enhance player experience in games.

• Ability to identify problems and devise creative solutions for complex challenges.

• Experience in fighting game animation (preferred).

• Background in animating for a MOBA-style camera (preferred).

• Experience with animation for Live Service games (preferred).

• Successful completion of background checks during the offer stage.
