This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
β’ Make a significant impact: Design and implement comprehensive systems, ranging from internal developer tools and platform services to scalable infrastructure components, ensuring their reliability, performance, and user-friendliness.
β’ Take ownership of the platform: Enhance and expand core platforms and developer experience tools, facilitating easier building, testing, deployment, and operation of high-quality software by teams.
β’ Foster innovation: Quickly prototype and refine new workflows, automation, and platform features that boost engineering productivity and operational excellence.
β’ Collaborate across functions: Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and fellow Engineers to define, design, and deliver impactful platform and infrastructure solutions.
β’ Set high standards: Lead by example through conducting code reviews, mentoring, and advocating for engineering best practices within the team.
β’ Proven experience in fast-paced settings: Background as a Senior or Staff Engineer in a high-growth startup or scale-up, with a strong focus on delivering results.
β’ Expertise in system design at scale: Demonstrated ability to architect and create complex systems, platforms, and developer tools that support engineering teams at scale.
β’ Proficient in modern technologies: Extensive experience with Python, Node.js, and AWS serverless architecture (such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB).
β’ Front-end development skills: Proficient in crafting responsive and efficient front-ends utilizing contemporary JavaScript frameworks like React.
β’ Product-oriented approach: Experience collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to address developer and operational challenges, beyond merely delivering features.
β’ Comfort with ambiguity: Ability to navigate shifting priorities and incomplete information to make sound technical decisions.
β’ Preferred: Familiarity with the energy sector or other regulated industries.
β’ Experience in building internal platforms, developer tools, or self-service infrastructure capabilities.
β’ Knowledge of real-time data processing or AI-driven systems.
β’ Background in data engineering, analytics, or machine learning, including hands-on experience with modern data tools like ClickHouse, dbt, Omni, or time-series data platforms.
β’ Competitive salary - our current range for this position is Β£101,000 or its equivalent in local currency.
