Staff Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and implementation of intricate, integration-intensive platforms.

• Establish front-end architecture and technical strategy, crafting scalable platforms and guiding the development of complex UI systems (e.g., React, Angular, Next.js, TypeScript).

• Set front-end standards and best practices, while contributing to shared design systems.

• Direct back-end development and API architecture, integrating intricate systems and third-party platforms (e.g., Node.js, Python).

• Create efficient database schemas and enhance performance across both relational and NoSQL systems.

• Propel backend performance, scalability, and reliability, while taking ownership of security best practices, including authentication and authorization.

• Spearhead monitoring, observability, and reliability practices across production systems.

• Guide the design and integration of AI services into full-stack production systems, encompassing LLM APIs, streaming, tool and function calling, multi-step agent flows, and RAG patterns.

• Adopt an AI-forward mindset in daily tasks, utilizing tools such as Claude, Cursor, and other contemporary AI assistants to deliver high-quality work expediently.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure technical decisions align with product and business objectives.

• Clearly articulate complex technical trade-offs and architectural choices to both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.

• Lead code reviews and design discussions, elevating the quality standards for the team.

• Establish front-end and full-stack engineering benchmarks that enhance quality and consistency across the team.

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering their craft, confidence, and impact.

• Make architectural choices with careful consideration of trade-offs and long-term consequences.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including leadership on complex full-stack projects.

• Deep expertise in React or Angular, with strong skills in JavaScript and TypeScript (e.g., React, Angular, Next.js).

• Substantial experience with state management.

• Strong understanding of modern CSS frameworks and build tools.

• Robust back-end development and API architecture experience (e.g., Node.js, Python).

• Strong testing practices that encompass unit, integration, and UI testing.

• Extensive knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, caching, and query optimization.

• Significant experience with microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and message queues.

• Proficient with cloud platforms and container orchestration.

• Strong background in CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience integrating AI services into production full-stack systems, including LLM APIs, streaming, tool and function calling, multi-step agent flows, and RAG patterns.

• Comfort in closely collaborating with design tools and partners to deliver polished, accessible UI (e.g., Figma).

• Proven leadership and technical mentoring experience within a team or organization.

• Exceptional stakeholder communication skills, capable of conveying technical depth to diverse audiences.
