Staff Engineer – Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop comprehensive test strategies and validation plans for networking and security capabilities within distributed systems.

• Create automated and scalable test suites that ensure validation of multi-tenant functionality, concurrency, data consistency, and overall system performance.

• Construct and uphold reliable automation frameworks utilizing tools such as Pytest and containerized environments with Docker, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.

• Design and implement performance tests that assess I/O throughput, system latency, NVMe access patterns, concurrency limits, and the stability of long-running workloads.

• Collaborate closely with architects, developers, release engineering, DevOps, and customer engineering teams to advocate for quality-driven design decisions.

• Generate precise and detailed test plans, automation documentation, design-review input, and quality metrics reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in software quality engineering, emphasizing distributed systems, system-level testing, or infrastructure platforms.

• Proficient in test automation with hands-on experience in Python, Bash, and modern CI/CD tools (such as Git, Jenkins, etc.).

• Solid understanding of distributed concurrency, file systems and I/O stack behavior, storage performance analysis (including NVMe and SPDK), networking, tracing, and system observability.

• Experience in large-scale performance testing, stress testing, and reliability assessments.

• Proven ability to diagnose intricate system issues utilizing logs, traces, network captures, and profiling tools.

• ISTQB or similar certification is preferred.
