Staff Engineer

📋 Description

• Contribute to the advancement of the company by writing and maintaining efficient, scalable code while engaging across all layers of our platform.

• Conduct technical analyses, develop product and website features, resolve bugs, share knowledge, and assist in the creation of documentation.

• Participate in business-hours support workflows and support operations teams in the implementation, testing, and deployment of solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional development experience (PHP preferred, but strong full-stack engineers with experience in other backend technologies are welcome to apply).

• Proven experience in designing and building complex systems from the ground up.

• Senior-level full-stack development experience demonstrating the ability to work on intricate, production-grade systems.

• Proficient in modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Svelte), HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.

• PHP serves as the primary backend language for this position; additional backend experience is advantageous but does not replace the need for PHP proficiency.

• Experience with various PHP versions, including maintaining and enhancing legacy codebases while developing in contemporary PHP.

• Familiarity with lightweight, middleware-driven PHP backends (PSR-7/PSR-15) or similar framework patterns.

• Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL), with expertise in query optimization and schema design.

• Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.

• Solid comprehension of software architecture principles, including MVC, SOLID, common design patterns, and scalability considerations.

• Proficient in version control systems (Git, SVN) and collaborative development workflows.

• Moderate experience with Unix systems and command line operations.

• Familiarity with automated testing practices, encompassing unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Experience working within CI/CD pipelines.

• Exceptional analytical and debugging skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Proven ability to take ownership of projects and execute with minimal supervision across various scopes and complexities.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Exceptional judgment and discretion, especially when engaged with sensitive systems or high-visibility projects.
