This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Create and uphold scalable, secure software architectures that align with business objectives, leading to robust and dependable systems.

• Introduce and apply best practices concerning Object-Oriented (OO) principles, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and microservices when suitable.

• Utilize artificial intelligence to enhance processes, minimize friction, and reclaim time for developers to focus on significant tasks.

• Enforce coding standards and best practices, promoting measurable enhancements in code quality and maintainability.

• Carry out regular code reviews with constructive feedback that significantly decreases bug counts and enhances software performance.

• Foster effective communication among development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment.

• Use data as your guiding principle—leverage application data, third-party data, and our data warehouse to analyze and address issues related to product impact and performance.

• Engage in our agile development process including sprint planning, story grooming, and standups.

• Advocate for our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and secure coding practices in all deliverables.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience with Ruby on Rails.

• A strong understanding of core principles: solid coding practices, domain-driven design, efficient code and queries, as well as unit and integration testing.

• Experience in leading projects that involve scaling, concurrency, queuing, background processing, and effective integration of third-party data.

• A security-oriented mindset with knowledge of OWASP, secure development practices, and SOC-2 processes.

• Familiarity with deploying resources beyond application development (AWS, RDS, queues, serverless environments).

• Proven experience in utilizing AI to streamline workflows, remove bottlenecks, and redirect focus toward meaningful tasks.

• Strong data engineering capabilities, including complex SQL queries, optimization, and ETL processes.

• Proficient in working with data warehouse and analytics tools to extract insights, troubleshoot errors, and drive performance improvements.
