This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.
• Lead technical projects, defining strategy and ensuring the successful execution of medium to large-scale backend initiatives.
• Provide backend solutions that align with business objectives, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Operate independently, often taking charge of key project segments or entire projects to align with business goals and customer requirements.
• Mentor and support engineers at various levels, contributing to their technical development and fostering a culture of excellence across teams.
• Advocate for best practices in coding, system design, and architecture, aiding in the continuous enhancement of engineering methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integrations and optimal system performance.
• Produce high-quality, innovative solutions that improve system performance, scalability, and user experience.
• Aid in the development of junior or semi-senior engineers by nurturing a culture of collaboration, ongoing learning, and shared ownership.
• Propel the advancement of engineering practices by introducing enhancements, encouraging innovation, and sharing technical knowledge across teams.
• Address complex technical challenges characterized by high scope and ambiguity.
• Encourage the use of AI-assisted engineering practices within your squad and chapter, utilizing tools for code generation, automated refactoring, test case creation, and technical documentation. Identify areas where AI can boost developer productivity, code quality, and team efficiency.
• Foster innovation within your team by exploring new methodologies and proactively tackling intricate engineering challenges.
• Educational background in computer science, engineering, or software development fields.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and AWS.
• Familiarity with Python is advantageous.
• Knowledge of asynchronous programming.
• Proven success in hands-on backend engineering roles.
• Experience working with projects of medium to high complexity.
• Comprehensive understanding of web and mobile application functionality, including security, session management, and best development practices.
• Knowledge of relational database systems and Object-Oriented Programming.
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD); knowledge of microservice architecture is a plus.
• Experience in conducting code reviews, facilitating knowledge sharing, and promoting collaborative development practices.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, learn quickly, and master a variety of web technologies and techniques.
• Proven skill in designing complex distributed applications optimized for high performance and throughput while ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Practical experience in applying AI frameworks to development projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in profiling and performance tuning Java applications, as well as utilizing monitoring tools for production application oversight.
