Staff Cybersecurity Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Manage the design, execution, and oversight of Cloudflare security services (WAF, DDoS Protection, Bot Management, API Shield, Rate Limiting) to protect web applications and APIs.

• Develop and document security standards as well as best practices for edge security, CDN utilization, and SSL/TLS management across the organization.

• Work collaboratively with application development, cloud engineering, and DevOps teams to embed security controls into all web applications and API gateways.

• Create and oversee AI Gateways to enhance global edge security and ensure real-time observability.

• Spearhead the design and execution of Layer 3/4 firewall tunneling strategies to secure and optimize hybrid cloud connectivity.

• Lead the security evaluation and fortification of edge security architectures, proactively identifying vulnerabilities in edge-side logic, global API endpoints, and WAF configurations.

• Supervise edge security automation to implement real-time custom mitigation logic and automated incident response.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in information security, focusing on application security, web security, or network security.

• More than 3 years of experience with DDoS protection and mitigation strategies for both application-layer and network-layer attacks.

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with web application firewalls (WAF), API and AI gateways, including rule development, tuning, and attack mitigation.

• Strong grasp of web application security principles, OWASP Top 10, and typical attack vectors.

• Familiarity with CDN platforms and edge security services to safeguard internet-facing applications.

• Proficient in HTTP/HTTPS protocols, SSL/TLS, DNS, and web application architectures.

• Experience in analyzing web traffic patterns, logs, and security events to detect threats and adjust security controls accordingly.
