Staff Backend Engineer – Grafana App Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Developing new features, enhancing the operational experience of the systems you create, and continuously refining them based on insights from production.

• Writing, contributing to, and reviewing design documentation.

• Actively participating in shaping the project roadmap.

• Mentoring and supporting fellow team members while collaborating with various teams throughout the organization.

• Taking responsibility for our customers' experience by engaging in weekday on-call rotations of 12 hours over 5 days, as well as a separate weekend rotation of 24 hours over 2 days.

⛳️ Requirements

• You possess strong coding abilities and operational experience, having been responsible for the software you developed.

• You have experience working on a SaaS platform and have dealt with common challenges associated with distributed systems (e.g., scalability, multi-tenancy, data isolation, high availability, etc.).

• You demonstrate excellent communication skills, conveying your ideas clearly in both written and verbal formats. You understand when to choose the appropriate mode of communication.

• You are open to collaborating across teams, ensuring your work aligns with the needs of other squads and external stakeholders. You maintain transparency in your plans, engage stakeholders, and welcome feedback and suggestions.

• You are pragmatic, valuing progress over perfection, and you can navigate ambiguity effectively.

• Our backend is built with Golang; you are either already familiar with Golang or eager to learn the language.
