Senior Backend Engineer – Features Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and refine microservices and APIs utilized by the alert pipeline and samdesk applications

• Incorporate new data sources into the pipeline, ensuring accurate parsing, enrichment, and routing

• Detect and resolve dataflow bottlenecks prior to reaching production

• Design and document APIs for use by front-end teams and external integrations

• Monitor the health of critical system components

• Create and implement AI agents that synchronize LLM inference with our real-time data pipeline

• Construct and sustain the orchestration layer that governs interactions between language models and structured pipeline outputs

• Collaborate with OpenAI and Anthropic APIs, including prompt engineering, tool utilization, and large-scale response management

• Guarantee that agent workflows are observable, testable, and resilient in production

• Design and deliver internal tools for operations, ML, and QA teams to oversee, troubleshoot, and enhance alert quality

• Identify deficiencies in developer and analyst workflows and create solutions to significantly reduce repetitive tasks

• Contribute to the project roadmap and engage in architectural decision-making

• Uphold high standards for code quality through thorough code reviews and mentorship

• Ensure sufficient test coverage across components so that systems can be safely expanded

• Break down complex requirements into precise effort estimates

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on backend development

• Expert-level proficiency in Node.js (TypeScript) and/or Python

• Practical experience with OpenAI and/or Anthropic APIs, including tool utilization, streaming, and prompt management

• Extensive experience in designing and building scalable REST or GraphQL APIs

• Familiarity with Docker and containerized application architecture

• Expertise in utilizing AI coding tools
