Staff Backend Engineer

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain dependable, high-performance backend services and APIs that support Morpho’s vital consumer and business functionalities.

• Create, manage, and execute backend services utilizing TypeScript/Node and GraphQL, ensuring dependable, low-latency experiences for users.

• Structure data, refine relational schemas (PostgreSQL), and optimize for accuracy, performance, and maintainability.

• Work collaboratively with frontend, product, protocol, risk, and security teams to deliver comprehensive outcomes.

• Oversee, diagnose, and enhance production systems with a focus on observability, incident management, reliability, and operational excellence.

• Streamline systems: lessen complexity, address technical debt, and standardize methodologies.

• (For more senior positions) Lead cross-team projects, advocate for technical designs, mentor fellow engineers, and become the primary authority on crucial backend areas.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior Level: Approximately 3-5 years of experience in backend system development, working with GraphQL APIs and relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.

• Staff Level: Approximately 8-10+ years of backend development experience, leading cross-team design efforts and delivering large, ambiguous projects; possessing deep expertise in data modeling, performance optimization, and production operations.
