SRE, Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Oversee and sustain essential infrastructure systems, leveraging extensive knowledge of Linux (preferably Debian/Ubuntu).

• Engage closely with hardware components: BIOS, IPMI, RAID configurations, and hardware-level diagnostics are integral to your expertise.

• Design and manage scalable networking solutions utilizing VLANs, L2/L3 routing, VPNs, and particularly UniFi equipment.

• Automate the provisioning and operation of infrastructure using Ansible, Bash/Python, and Git-based methodologies.

• Establish and oversee observability frameworks, incorporating Prometheus/Grafana for metrics and Graylog, ELK, or Loki for log centralization.

• Develop tools for server discovery, configuration auto-generation, automated OS installations, PXE/Preseed/Cloud-init, along with robust MAAS-based provisioning.

• Integrate and/or create internal APIs for monitoring compute and GPU resource allocation, in addition to external APIs (billing, monitoring, OpenStack, etc.).

• Implement and maintain virtualization and orchestration systems such as OpenStack (ideally with Kolla-Ansible), Proxmox VE, or VMware ESXi.

• Support container-based workloads while efficiently isolating services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient-level Linux administration (preferably Debian/Ubuntu).

• Solid experience with MAAS / Ironic / bare-metal automation (essential).

• Strong foundational knowledge of networking: VLANs, routing, VPNs.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Ansible), scripting (Bash/Python), and GitOps.

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Graylog.

• Comfort with custom deployment automation (PXE, Preseed, MAAS/Ironic).

• Understanding of resource tracking, API integrations, and dashboard creation.

• Demonstrated experience with OpenStack, Proxmox, VMware, and container orchestration.
