Specialized Front-End UI Developer, Accessibility Expert

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Create clean, well-organized, and easily maintainable HTML and CSS/SASS that adheres to contemporary web standards.

• Effectively integrate frontend user interfaces within Angular or MVC .NET frameworks.

• Establish digital accessibility from the outset by applying WCAG standards, utilizing ARIA labels, and ensuring proper color contrast to make all digital services accessible to every Iowan.

• Collaborate with the lead UX Architect to adhere to strategic architectural directions, enhancing technical accessibility standards across enterprise-level projects, including chatbot interfaces and global state footers.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional agency teams, clearly communicating technical frontend requirements, standards, and best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge in writing clean, semantic HTML5 and modern, responsive CSS/SASS.

• Proven track record of implementing WCAG standards, managing ARIA landmarks/attributes, and addressing color contrast or screen-reader compatibility challenges.

• Demonstrated capability to integrate frontend assets into Angular or MVC .NET frameworks.

• Ability to effectively communicate frontend engineering concepts, WCAG requirements, and technical standards to both technical team members and agency stakeholders.

• Experience with established design systems or wrapper components is a plus.

• Basic understanding of user experience (UX) principles and design workflows is a plus.
