This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Support educators in delivering tailored instruction that aligns with students’ IEP objectives.
• Utilize assistive technology and diverse strategies to facilitate access to the curriculum.
• Collaborate and co-teach alongside special education and general education teachers and coaches.
• Manage special education requirements for students enrolled in inclusion programs.
• Evaluate students for proficiency in accordance with state standards and testing criteria.
• Prepare students for standardized testing and aid in local and state assessments.
• Engage with students, parents, teachers, coaches, staff, administrators, and other stakeholders regarding performance and progress.
• Foster and sustain positive relationships with families.
• Monitor student progress and inspire students through goal-oriented incentives.
• Document and maintain records in the designated systems.
• Ensure adherence to company and district record-keeping protocols.
• Generate necessary reports and take part in special education meetings.
• Attend staff meetings and partake in professional development opportunities.
• Address daily challenges presented by staff and students.
• Work collaboratively with the Special Education team to establish an effective program.
• Engage in the Response to Intervention process when requested.
• Contribute to school committee work, assemblies, school events, incentives, and community service initiatives.
• Assist with pre- and post-school responsibilities, including club sponsorship and lunch, and other duties as required.
• Communicate the needs of special education students to school leadership.
• Cultivate a positive school atmosphere and uphold school and classroom regulations and policies.
• Must be a Michigan resident.
• 60 credits or an Associate’s Degree required.
• One year of experience in providing student support.
• Must be able to pass a required background check.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
• Familiarity with web-based tools.
• Exceptional communication and time management skills.
• Willingness to travel 20% of the time for meetings, professional development, and state testing.
• Capability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during work hours.
• Availability to work typically from 9 AM to 5 PM or 8 AM to 4 PM, or as per the school’s schedule.
