Software Quality Engineer – Automation, Testing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and oversee both manual and automated testing processes for enterprise software applications.

• Analyze product requirements and technical specifications to pinpoint risks, establish test coverage, and assist in sprint planning activities.

• Work collaboratively with software engineers, product teams, and QA professionals to guarantee high-quality software delivery.

• Develop and uphold test plans, test cases, and testing documentation based on both business and technical specifications.

• Investigate defects and testing failures through log analysis, database verification, and application troubleshooting.

• Validate functionality across web, mobile, API, and backend systems as necessary.

• Promote continuous improvement initiatives that elevate software quality, enhance testing efficiency, and refine team processes.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, refinement sessions, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Foster a quality-first attitude throughout the software development lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 3 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or software quality engineering.

• Proficient in both manual and automated testing methodologies.

• Experience in testing web and/or mobile applications.

• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.

• Skilled in identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects.

• Practical knowledge of SQL for data validation and troubleshooting purposes.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Authorization to work in Costa Rica and the capability to work remotely from within the country.
