Software Engineer – Query Language

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the New Relic query language stack, which includes grammar parsing, compilation, and processing.

• Actively engage in cross-functional committees to advance the query language, collaborating with teams focused on AI, Visualizations, and Data Processing.

• Develop and sustain scalable distributed Java services along with Petabyte-scale Infrastructure.

• Analyze and address critical performance, availability, and resiliency challenges in a distributed database that spans multiple regions, clouds, and tenants.

• Operate within an agile framework utilizing a DevOps methodology — the team is responsible for building and maintaining their software, including rotating on-call duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in collaborative software development.

• Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and contemporary software design and development practices.

• A self-motivated individual with a robust sense of ownership regarding your code and commitments.

• Proficiency in using the command line to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.

• Experience with Java or equivalent expertise in another object-oriented programming language (C++, C#, etc.).
