Software Engineer, Knowledge Informatics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute and implement data ETL processes, along with management and engineering tasks.

• Create user interfaces for data curation and maintenance tools tailored to user specifications.

• Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of data and knowledge processing, and streamline workflows for internal data analysis, interpretation, and clinical report generation in daily clinical operations.

• Develop and implement data models and software frameworks for optimal storage and processing of data, information, and clinical insights.

• Oversee database performance and proactively enhance queries and processes to boost efficiency.

• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and regulated clinical diagnostics setting alongside geneticists, bioinformaticians, software engineers, and IT infrastructure specialists.

⛳️ Requirements

• Education: Bachelor of Science in computer science, a similar program, or an equivalent qualification, with over 3 years of extensive experience in the relevant field.

• Proficiency in Python, R, or C++.

• Experience with data ETL, management, and sharing for genomic and clinical applications, particularly with next-generation human sequencing data.

• Familiarity with SQL database management systems.

• Understanding of database architecture, design, and optimization techniques.

• DevOps experience, including unit testing and CI/CD, is an advantage.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
