Software Engineer IV – Full Stack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance features within a JavaScript frontend application, which is the primary focus of this position.

• Contribute to Java backend services that support the frontend and interface with related systems, including Salesforce.

• Engage in code reviews, offering specific and constructive feedback to help uphold quality and ensure a shared understanding among the team.

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and government stakeholders to clarify requirements and facilitate workflow.

• Take part in agile ceremonies — including standups, planning sessions, and retrospectives — and actively engage in team-level problem-solving.

• Manage your own schedule and priorities within a distributed team, proactively identifying blockers to keep the team unimpeded.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Extensive JavaScript experience in a professional context, with proven skills in React development.

• Proven experience in creating accessible frontends, underpinned by knowledge of accessibility standards.

• Experience in Java, specifically in building or maintaining backend services in a production setting.

• Comfortable working across the full technology stack — frontend, backend, and integration points between systems.

• Experience navigating complex or legacy environments with existing codebases and infrastructure not originally developed by you.

• A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) is contractually required for this position.

• Ability to operate comfortably under uncertainty — capable of making informed decisions and progressing when requirements are still evolving.

• Strong time management skills and the ability to self-manage within a distributed, asynchronous team.

• Clear and direct communication: identifies blockers promptly, asks insightful questions, and contributes to team cohesion.
