This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and manage customer-oriented integrations (APIs, identity federation, webhooks, imports/exports, and marketplace applications) that minimize manual tasks for clients, facilitate new product workflows, and enhance the reliability and security standards across the platform.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Customer Success, and fellow engineers to conceptualize, create, and deploy integration functionalities that enable new workflows.
• Create external-facing APIs and “Bridge” infrastructure for the transfer of requests between Kodex and external systems.
• Implement identity and verification integrations such as “Sign in with Kodex (OIDC)” along with associated security evaluations, testing environments, and customer support.
• Deliver cross-border/government portal integrations that necessitate strict specification adherence, auditing, and operational precision.
• Transform existing custom integrations into reusable, scalable components.
• Develop self-service integrations that eliminate manual configurations and lessen on-call/customer support demands.
• Enhance reliability and observability across integration interfaces.
• Engage in on-call rotations to uphold system reliability and address incidents.
• Elevate engineering standards through intentional architecture, thorough testing, and practical refactoring.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent).
• Proficient in TypeScript and comfortable working with Node.js backend and React frontend.
• Experience with (or a willingness to learn) Golang and security-centric infrastructure (e.g., AWS Nitro Enclaves, key management, handling sensitive data).
• Have developed and maintained production APIs/integrations (REST/GraphQL, webhooks, queues, asynchronous workflows).
• Familiar with (or eager to deepen knowledge in) authentication and authorization patterns such as OAuth2/OIDC, service-to-service authentication, token hygiene, and secure-by-default interface design.
• Consider reliability (timeouts, retries, idempotency, backfills, migrations, monitoring) thoughtfully and can efficiently troubleshoot production issues.
• Have effectively utilized AI coding tools in production and know how to direct them with sound engineering judgment (design, architecture, testing).
• Capable of transforming ambiguous requirements (often from external partners) into clear designs and deliverables.
