This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.
• Design and develop software solutions tailored to meet customer requirements, emphasizing performance and availability.
• Work in tandem with product managers and lead software engineers to transform requirements into comprehensive design specifications.
• Provide estimates for software development efforts, identifying dependent teams and crafting code to meet intricate requirements.
• Enhance, refactor, and reuse existing code to boost performance and maintainability, ensuring optimal efficiency, effectiveness, and return on investment.
• Write secure code by adhering to secure programming practices, and by identifying, rectifying, and improving security in current applications.
• Improve code quality through the development of unit, integration, and acceptance tests.
• Optimize performance and address availability challenges of products or services, including their dependencies.
• Collaborate with fellow software engineers and teams on code reviews, development infrastructure, and process improvements.
• Mentor and guide other software engineers by engaging in design and code reviews, sharing best practices, and actively seeking mentorship from peers.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a software development team setting.
• At least 3 years of experience in developing applications and features in an object-oriented environment (e.g., C#, .NET).
• Familiarity with database objects in relational databases (e.g., MS SQL, Oracle) or non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Experience with microservices architecture (e.g., WebAPI, Service Stack, REST API).
• Proficiency in code reviews, code optimization, and unit & acceptance testing.
• Skilled in using version control systems (e.g., GIT, GitHub, TFS).
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or MIS; alternatively, a minimum of 4 years of equivalent work experience and a high school diploma/GED.
