Software Engineer II – Front End

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain user-facing applications utilizing Angular, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript, implementing designs from Figma specifications with federal Design System components.

• Create and manage Selenium and Cypress end-to-end tests for UI workflows, aiding in achieving automated test coverage goals for all new and updated code.

• Collaborate with the UX/Accessibility enabling team to ensure frontend implementations comply with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

• Troubleshoot, optimize, and oversee work across testing and production environments, contributing to CI/CD pipeline efforts as appropriate.

• Engage in required peer code reviews and follow the four-eyes principle for all commits.

• Work alongside backend engineers, QA, and UX designers to deliver comprehensive features from story refinement to production deployment.

• Take part in SAFe ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Contribute to the development of Design System components, aiding in maintaining consistency across program modules.

• Participate in on-call rotations as necessary and enhance cross-functional knowledge through paired programming.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of relevant engineering experience and a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent additional experience in place of a degree.

• Expertise in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and Angular for constructing modern web applications.

• Experience in implementing UI designs from Figma or similar design tools.

• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.

• Understanding of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and their application in frontend development.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control using Git/GitLab.

• Capability to collaborate effectively across engineering, QA, and design teams in an agile setting.
