This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +22 more states.
• Participate in the design and implementation of services within a continuous delivery framework on a cloud platform.
• Collaborate with team leads and architects to establish a technical vision and create innovative services that are consistent, maintainable, and highly scalable for diverse commerce experiences.
• Engage with microservices architecture, domain-driven design, and RESTful APIs using Java.
• Operate in a distributed/cloud-based environment, utilizing Amazon Web Services and Kubernetes while handling high transaction volumes.
• Employ data structures, algorithms, and architectural patterns.
• Define solutions, provide effort and risk estimates, and assess technical feasibility.
• Implement modern build strategies, continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests.
• Adopt full DevOps practices to foster a culture of continuous software testing and release on Amazon Web Services through automation and monitoring.
• Utilize NoSQL with Amazon Web Services to ensure that data storage is designed for security, reliability, availability, maintainability, and performance.
• Deliver software using a Scrum development methodology.
• Conduct technical code reviews and engage in pair programming.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure that the service ecosystem remains loosely coupled and scalable.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering (Master's degree preferred).
• 1-3 years of progressive experience in software engineering.
• Experience in designing and developing microservices using Spring Boot Java/J2EE, Python, or NodeJS REST Webservices/GraphQL.
• Skills in requirements gathering.
• Familiarity with AWS Native Services, such as Lambda.
• Knowledge of databases, including SQL and NoSQL.
• Experience with monitoring tools like New Relic and Splunk.
• Background in Apache Camel Messaging Services or ESB.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes, OpenShift, ElasticSearch, DynamoDB, and MongoDB.
• Familiarity with AWS build tools, including Jenkins and Maven.
• Understanding of UML and design patterns.
