Software Engineer, Data Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and develop frameworks and features for the next iteration of the Sophos Central platform, utilizing the Taegis Data Platform.

• Construct, maintain, and optimize extensive data pipelines to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Engage in architecture, planning, and design discussions with engineering leaders, architects, and team leads.

• Work closely with operations and site reliability teams to ensure that solutions are production-ready, observable, and maintainable.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of platform standards related to security, resilience, and operational excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–6 years of professional experience in software development.

• Strong hands-on expertise in designing and building cloud-native platforms on AWS.

• Proficiency in Java, particularly with Spring Boot.

• Experience in building and maintaining distributed systems and streaming platforms such as Kafka and Apache Spark.

• Familiarity with Apache Hudi is highly preferred, along with experience in technologies such as AWS EKS, S3, Glue, and Athena.

• Solid understanding of scalable system design, encompassing API design, authentication, messaging, logging, monitoring, and testability.

• Experience in building and managing high-volume data platforms, including Data Lake ingestion, storage, and query systems.

• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.

• Strong experience with Linux/Unix systems and the ability to troubleshoot large-scale cloud applications effectively.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
