Software Engineer – Data Movement Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Enhance and uphold our data infrastructure technologies to facilitate ML and analytics workflows utilizing data gathered from hundreds of millions of users.

• Take ownership of the Data Movement Platform that enables batch and stream data processing at Reddit.

• Focus on developing new infrastructure for Spark, Flink, and Airflow technologies at Reddit, including contributing to the open-source community as necessary.

• Create automated solutions to reduce laborious tasks for data users at Reddit, offering a declarative, self-service experience for data interaction.

• Work collaboratively with team members to share on-call duties and support monitoring/alerting to enhance the reliability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Reddit’s Data Platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of software engineering experience in a production environment, writing clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code.

• Proficient in object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Scala, Go, or Java.

• Proven expertise in designing and implementing large-scale systems, consistently monitoring project progress, and demonstrating proactive leadership as a self-starter across various projects.

• Experience with cloud services, Airflow, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Spark, Flink, and/or modern cloud-based infrastructure.

• Exceptional communication skills suited for effective collaboration within both a service-oriented team and the wider organizational context.
