Software Engineer – Backend, Core Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance services that provide new core platform functionalities.

• Collaborate with the team to support authentication, authorization, and analytics features.

• Construct, test, deploy, and oversee a distributed array of services.

• Work alongside product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver features from start to finish.

• Contribute to the evolution of the Censys public API as platform functionalities expand.

• Enhance the developer experience for both internal teams and external API users.

• Take ownership of small-to-medium features, managing technical design through to launch with increasing autonomy; engage in design discussions with guidance from senior engineers.

• Share on-call responsibilities for your designated areas and address straightforward incidents with team support when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in writing backend services using Go (Golang).

• Basic understanding of distributed systems and common operational challenges.

• General knowledge of database architecture and typical access patterns.

• Practical experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS or GCP).

• Excellent collaboration, communication, and analytical troubleshooting abilities.

• A history of delivering clearly defined work at a high standard, knowing when to seek clarification or assistance, and rapidly learning from errors.
