Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Design and develop agentic systems from start to finish — including tool calling, sub-agent orchestration, memory management, durable state, and failure recovery.

• Create evaluation frameworks from scratch — incorporating golden datasets, regression harnesses, and systematic methods to assess the efficacy of your AI systems.

• Take ownership of AI features from initial prototype to full production: ensuring they are observable, maintainable, and cost-effective.

• Collaborate with product and domain engineers to pinpoint where AI can provide genuine leverage — and where it may not be effective.

• Contribute to the overall approach we take to AI development within the organization: establishing patterns, tools, and standards for others to utilize.

• Oversee the operational economics of AI systems — focusing on latency, token costs, and context efficiency as primary engineering considerations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven production experience with agentic systems: including tool calling, multi-step orchestration, memory management, or RAG pipelines — with supporting evidence (shipped product, open-source contributions, or portfolio).

• You have developed evaluation infrastructure rather than merely executing evaluations — demonstrating your ability to systematically measure non-deterministic systems.

• Strong backend engineering skills in TypeScript/Node.js; proficient in Python for AI tooling and evaluation tasks.

• Practical experience with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, EventBridge, S3, API Gateway).

• You work with a high degree of autonomy — progressing from ambiguous problems to completed systems without requiring a predefined path.

• Familiarity with reliability patterns: including retries, idempotency, observability, and failure-mode recovery.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CDK, Terraform, or similar tools).
