Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, architecture, and development of applications based on Java and PL/SQL that meet business and system requirements.

• Implement and refine business logic utilizing PL/SQL packages, procedures, and triggers along with Pension’s proprietary tools.

• Convert functional requirements into solid, scalable technical designs and specifications.

• Enhance performance, scalability, and data integrity throughout the application stack.

• Conduct thorough code reviews, troubleshoot intricate issues, and offer technical guidance to developers.

• Execute unit testing and ensure that all outputs adhere to quality and security benchmarks.

• Work closely with project teams to establish scope, timelines, and deliverables.

• Mentor and guide team members to foster best practices and technical excellence.

• Advocate for the adoption of new technologies, automation, and DevOps practices to boost productivity.

• Establish and uphold application security, data protection, and coding standards.

• Document software architecture, processes, and solutions to facilitate maintainability and knowledge sharing.

• Contribute to client implementation projects, offering technical leadership and consulting expertise.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• At least 7 years of progressive experience in software development, encompassing system design and architecture.

• Familiarity with pension plan concepts is highly advantageous.

• Advanced proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and Java.

• Strong grasp of relational database design, performance tuning, and optimization.

• Experience with Oracle APEX, Git, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and UNIX Bash scripting.

• Background in database management, data conversion, reporting tools, API integration, and application design.

• Demonstrated ability to lead development teams and mentor junior staff members.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

• Highly motivated, collaborative, and focused on quality.

• Previous experience in the pension or financial services sector is a plus.
