Software Development Engineer in Test – Network Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of quality for designated features, components, or services.

• Create and implement functional, integration, system, and regression testing.

• Conduct exploratory testing to identify edge cases and potential failure scenarios.

• Detect, document, and monitor defects with detailed reproduction steps and impact assessments.

• Effectively prioritize tasks, maintain focus, and ensure completion of assignments.

• Design, develop, and sustain automated test cases for APIs, backend systems, and/or UI.

• Engage actively in CI/CD pipelines to facilitate continuous testing.

• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and fellow QA engineers.

• Take part in requirement and design evaluations to guarantee testability and risk coverage.

• Work with developers to troubleshoot issues and verify solutions.

• Analyze test outcomes and deliver quality insights to inform release decisions.

• Contribute to enhancing test coverage, tools, and processes.


⛳️ Requirements

• 4 to 5 years of experience in software quality engineering or test automation positions.

• Significant hands-on experience in developing test automation.

• Strong knowledge of operating systems, network security principles, and firewall technologies.

• Familiarity with networking technologies and protocols such as HTTP, TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, proxy servers, and load balancers.

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP.

• Background in Agile environments and supporting continuous integration practices, including nightly builds and release cycles.

• Ability to independently design tests and write test code.

• Understanding of multi-platform challenges across UNIX, Mac, and Windows environments.

• Knowledge of virtualization platforms such as ESX, Xen, Proxmox, and cloud environments.

• Familiarity with open-source test automation tools.

• Understanding of REST, YANG modeling, and JSON.

• Knowledge of microservices, containers, Kubernetes, and Kubernetes clusters.

• Awareness of tools and technologies including Git, Jenkins, Selenium, JIRA, and Confluence.

• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• A collaborative team player with a positive attitude and a proactive approach to innovative solutions.
