Software Development Engineer III, Android, Maps SDK

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Finland.

📋 Description

• Defining and supervising the execution of large-scale, cross-functional projects and initiatives.

• Ensuring quality by promoting enhancements in our development processes, code quality standards, and best practices across teams.

• Participating in technical discussions and decisions that influence long-term strategic direction and scalability.

• Serving as a technical mentor and resource for the team, encouraging professional growth and knowledge-sharing.

• Designing expressive and user-friendly APIs for developers utilizing our SDKs.

• Delivering high-quality features in partnership with peers and cross-functional teams.

• Implementing enhancements to our SDK's functionality and developer experience.

• Exploring the cross-platform implementations that support our frameworks to ensure seamless integration and functionality.

• Debugging, profiling, and optimizing performance issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven track record of delivering complex Android applications and SDKs.

• Proficiency in native technologies, including Kotlin and Java.

• Experience with testing methodologies and frameworks.

• Strong focus on usability and providing an excellent user experience.

• Eagerness to develop frameworks and developer tools.

• Willingness to learn and share knowledge.

• Commitment to earning and maintaining customer trust.

• Readiness to dive into the Android stack and explore AOSP code when necessary.

• Experience in debugging and profiling to address performance issues is a plus.

• Familiarity with or interest in learning more about C++ is a plus.
