Senior Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Architect, develop, and uphold high-caliber Android applications utilizing Java, Kotlin, and KMM.

• Collaborate intimately with various technology and cross-functional teams both within and outside the organization to define, design, and implement new features and software releases.

• Capable of converting customer and market requirements into effective and secure mobile solutions.

• Create and develop mobile applications that effortlessly integrate with our next-generation cloud-based platform.

• Define project scope, decompose into modules, and estimate efforts in close partnership with Program Management.

• Skillfully present and showcase various concepts and solutions to clients, partners, and leadership.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot applications to enhance performance.

• Engage in code reviews and contribute to the sharing of knowledge within the team.

• Keep abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our mobile application solutions are contemporary and competitive.

• Execute additional tasks as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a comparable field of study plus relevant experience.

• Over 4 years of experience in Native Android development; Proven expertise in Android development using Java and/or Kotlin.

• Established proficiency in creating solutions and platforms that utilize wireless communications and Mobile Application technologies.

• Strong grasp of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.

• Proven experience with Web services, Cloud, and API technologies.

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and develop POC/prototypes.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail; capable of driving and owning the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform applications.

• Familiarity with the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for standard tasks.

• Competence in understanding business needs and translating them into technical specifications.

• Excellent communication skills with extensive experience collaborating with technical teams and management.

• Proficient with mobile apps or Cloud apps software development tools.

• Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
