This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Design, test, and implement full stack applications utilizing contemporary frameworks and secure coding methodologies.
• Ensure adherence to USDA, FPAC, and NRCS regulations, encompassing security, privacy, and Section 508 accessibility.
• Maintain documentation that is ready for audit regarding all development, deployment, and operational tasks.
• Engage in Agile processes, including refining backlogs, planning sprints, and managing tickets in Jira.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues and incidents within established SLAs.
• Conduct preventive, corrective, adaptive, and perfective maintenance to guarantee system stability and minimize technical debt.
• Create and uphold CI/CD pipelines featuring automated testing, security scanning, and quality gates.
• Facilitate controlled, secure, and auditable releases, including validation of deployments and rollback protocols.
• Contribute to modernization initiatives, such as upgrading legacy systems, migrating to the cloud, and improving architecture.
• Implement and sustain APIs, integrations, and service-layer data access methods in alignment with enterprise standards.
• Address security vulnerabilities in compliance with NIST and federal regulations.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and materials for knowledge transfer.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Must possess experience in supporting USDA, NRCS, or other federal geospatial initiatives.
• Over 5 years of experience in full stack development utilizing modern frameworks (e.g., .NET / .NET Core, Java, Angular, React) with expertise in building scalable APIs and microservices.
• Proficient with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and contemporary data access patterns.
• Practical experience with cloud services (AWS preferred), containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Comprehensive understanding of DevSecOps practices, including automated testing, secure coding, and code quality tools (e.g., SonarQube).
• Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain a USDA Public Trust Security clearance.
