📋 Description

• In the role of Social Media Editor, you will discover and propose stories utilizing analytics and tools to identify current trends, as well as uncovering the next significant stories yourself.

• Your responsibilities will include editing and publishing stories on our social media platforms, identifying new avenues for our brands to excel, and devising innovative strategies to enhance traffic to our sites and expand our audience.

• You will report on live events and breaking news through social media, ensuring a quick turnaround on major stories both in the US and internationally, while delivering exclusive content that distinguishes us from our competitors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates who are fluent in Spanish are highly preferred for this position; please include this information in your application or cover letter if applicable.

• You are a seasoned and digitally proficient social media expert, equipped with knowledge of media law, meticulous attention to detail, and prior experience in a social media-centric role within a newsroom setting.

• You possess a keen insight for storytelling and a strong interest in current events.

• You excel in communication, with the ability to present stories that captivate our audience with enthusiasm, skill, and flair.

• You are a swift yet precise writer with web and social media competencies, along with a strong proficiency in video content.

• You thrive in a dynamic environment, possessing a solid understanding of the influence of social media.

• You have in-depth knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, X, and other platforms like Threads and Reddit, as well as a discerning eye for emerging social media trends.

• Extensive video experience is crucial, ideally including a strong grasp of Premier, and a background in events, sports, tabloids, or breaking news is desirable, as well as familiarity with Echobox.
