Social Media Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Oversee and engage with online communities on both established and emerging platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, and Nextdoor, utilizing approved messaging and response templates, along with established escalation protocols.

• Monitor and craft tailored, brand-consistent responses to reviews on platforms like Google and Trustpilot, while tracking recurring feedback to provide valuable insights to the broader business.

• Detect sensitive, high-risk, or intricate customer interactions, following strict playbook guidelines to promptly escalate issues related to reputation, media inquiries, safeguarding concerns, or legal matters.

• Generate and publish updates to keep local business listings accurate, while aiding in location-specific marketing campaigns and promotions.

• Plan content across various platforms, facilitate approvals, and maintain well-organized digital asset libraries and publishing calendars.

• Create captivating social media graphics, adapt existing assets into short-form content, and perform basic video edits to support marketing initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least two years of experience in community management, social media, or digital marketing.

• Outstanding written English and communication abilities.

• Demonstrated capability to exercise sound judgement and identify when situations necessitate formal escalation instead of engagement.

• Direct experience in responding to customer comments, messages, and online reviews.

• Strong familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Reddit.

• Experience with social media scheduling tools and Meta Business Suite.

• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.

• Capability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and strictly adhere to structured communication frameworks, brand guidelines, and PR playbooks.

• Experience within a regulated industry sector. (Desirable)

• Experience managing online communities during sensitive reputational situations. (Desirable)

• Familiarity with Google Business Profile. (Desirable)

• Experience using Nextdoor. (Desirable)

• Proficiency with CapCut or similar video editing software. (Desirable)
