This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct discovery sessions with clients to gain insights into their current SAS environment, focusing on assessing migration feasibility.
• Analyze existing SAS programs, collaborating with Product Development and Data Science teams to evaluate effort and duration requirements for any custom developments.
• Identify customer use cases involving unsupported language elements and software modules, developing a ‘route to live’ strategy.
• Participate in customer stand-ups and project review meetings, representing Siemens’ RapidMiner SLC.
• Oversee the technical execution of migration projects, including but not limited to:
• Educate customer system administrators on the effective utilization of SLC/HUB as needed.
• Instruct customer migration delivery teams on best practices for code migration.
• Address technical issues to ensure swift resolution in collaboration with L2 support.
• Conduct requirements scoping, defect analysis, and collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams when necessary to supervise the deployment of maintenance builds and bug fixes.
• Record findings, assumptions, and best practices related to code migration and transformation.
• Travel to client sites on an infrequent, as-needed basis.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in SAS programming, demonstrating strong proficiency in:
• DATA Step and DS2.
• Core and advanced PROC usage.
• Data manipulation, transformation, and performance optimization.
• SAS Enterprise Guide.
• SAS Studio.
• Strong understanding of data structures, data processing, and analytics workflows.
• Experience with complex SAS code bases, including debugging and optimization.
• Proficient in SQL and data querying methods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of translating business requirements into effective SAS solutions.
• Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with SLC supported platforms: Linux, AIX, MacOS, and Solaris.
• Experience with Cloud Computing technologies such as AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI.
• Nice to Have:
• Experience with contemporary analytics or data processing languages (e.g., Python, R).
• Knowledge of containerization tools (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Understanding of SAS on Mainframe z/OS and zLinux.
