• Assist in enhancing reliability, automation, and performance within our cloud-based infrastructure.
• Facilitate and support the daily operations for Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) on the team, collaborating with their managers to strategize the management of daily responsibilities.
• Monitor the team's success based on predefined goals and objectives.
• Address issues of limited scope, demonstrating the ability to identify and implement solutions for routine challenges.
• Integrate with an Engineering team, guiding them towards production excellence and championing best practices.
• Provide mentorship to team members and lead initiatives.
• Spearhead the design of features while considering system-wide and architectural implications.
• Comprehend the essential daily tasks associated with a production environment and engage in on-call support.
• Collaborate with other disciplines in the design, deployment, operation, and optimization of services.
• Troubleshoot production issues across various services and levels of the stack, as well as practice incident response and conduct blameless postmortems.
• Identify opportunities for process and tool improvements to enhance the overall productivity of the team.
• Recognize and attract top talent to join our team.
• Provide estimates, monitor progress, manage risks, and oversee team members' time.
• Participate in on-call shifts alongside other disciplines to address incidents.
• Engage with tech communities and contribute to their enhancement.
• Immerse in our business domain and requirements, aligning with our company's vision, mission, and strategy to achieve our short and long-term objectives.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the SRE domain.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in leading, managing, and developing SRE teams.
• Willingness to embrace the role of a generalizing specialist as we aim to build a multidisciplinary and balanced team composed of "t-shaped" individuals.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language is essential, as software engineering plays a crucial role in our work, and we actively utilize and support various platforms and languages.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies such as TDD or BDD is highly regarded.
• Familiarity with the container ecosystem, cloud infrastructure, build systems, and CI/CD tools is vital for success in this role.
• Comfort in taking ownership of complex system challenges and identifying opportunities for improvement.
