Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee and enhance global infrastructure.

• Perform hands-on management of Linux servers.

• Engage in automation, network setup, and system fortification.

• Guarantee high availability and optimal performance.

• Conduct infrastructure planning, security measures, and compliance checks.

• Provide support for mission-critical environments.

• Manage cross-connect implementations (L2/L3).

• Develop infrastructure solutions with intricate network topologies.

• Deploy automated provisioning utilizing Ansible and Terraform.

• Apply OS patches and server upgrades while minimizing downtime.

• Oversee global infrastructure health monitoring with Prometheus/Grafana.

• Implement security protocols: SSH hardening, firewalls, user access controls.

• Create and sustain backup strategies and disaster-recovery plans.

• Deliver L2/L3 support, diagnosing and resolving network and server challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of practical Linux administration experience (Ubuntu Server, advanced level).

• Extensive knowledge of BGP, basic networking principles, and cross-connect configurations (L2/L3).

• Proven hands-on experience with Ansible and Terraform in production settings.

• Proficient scripting abilities in bash and/or Python.

• Strong grasp of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, AppArmor/SELinux.

• Familiarity with Docker, Prometheus/Grafana/ELK, and database management (PostgreSQL, MySQL, ClickHouse).

• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Russian.
