Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.

📋 Description

• Assisting in the transition of a self-managed Kubernetes cluster to Amazon EKS.

• Overseeing and enhancing AWS infrastructure as defined in Terraform.

• Aiding in the migration of self-hosted Kafka to Amazon's managed services.

• Ensuring the stability, observability, and security of the platform during transitions.

• Working closely with a senior internal team and proactively taking on tasks.

• Documenting processes for team maintenance and knowledge sharing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Authentic hands-on experience with EKS, rather than merely navigating a managed cluster.

• Ability to work within someone else's infrastructure while respecting the current setup.

• Strong proficiency in AWS, particularly with Terraform for managing infrastructure.

• Capability to oversee and migrate self-hosted systems to cloud-native, managed services.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Kafka, including transitions to managed services like Amazon MSK.

• Mid-senior level experience with a collaborative approach that complements an existing senior team.

• Excellent communication skills for articulating technical trade-offs effectively.
