ServiceNow Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Configure and tailor ServiceNow modules, encompassing IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), and Customer Service Management.

• Create custom applications utilizing ServiceNow App Engine and Flow Designer.

• Design and sustain business rules, client and server scripts, UI policies and actions, ACLs, notifications, and catalog items.

• Develop integrations with REST, SOAP, IntegrationHub, MID server, and external APIs.

• Collaborate with business analysts and governmental stakeholders to gather requirements, translating business needs into technical solutions.

• Engage in Agile software development activities, which include sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives.

• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and support user acceptance testing.

• Diagnose production issues and implement prompt corrective actions.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, such as solution designs, configuration guides, and operational procedures.

• Assist with platform upgrades, patching, and release management tasks.

• Apply secure coding practices and ensure that solutions adhere to federal security and governance standards.

• Work alongside cybersecurity teams to guarantee compliance with federal security regulations, including NIST, FedRAMP, FISMA, and agency-specific policies.

• Support Authority to Operate (ATO) initiatives and security assessments.

• Ensure solutions meet Section 508 accessibility requirements when applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

• 3–7 years of professional experience in software development.

• 2-5 years of direct experience in ServiceNow development.

• Proficient programming skills in one or more of the following: JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C#, Python, C++.

• Experience in developing with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, C++, and Python.

• Familiarity with ServiceNow Studio, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, Script Includes, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, and Catalog development.

• Experienced in creating REST APIs and web applications.

• Proficient with Git and contemporary version control practices.

• Knowledgeable in relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle SQL Developer.

• Experience working within Agile software development frameworks.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication abilities.
