📋 Description

• Take charge of the daily implementation of Darkroom's SEO strategies, including on-page optimization, internal linking, metadata management, structured data, and content updates.

• Perform keyword research and align search intent with opportunities across the Observatory, case studies, and landing pages.

• Design topic clusters, pillar pages, and refresh cycles to ensure the Observatory builds authority over time, avoiding a mere publishing treadmill.

• Conduct regular technical audits and resolve issues related to crawlability, site speed, broken links, and schema markup.

• Manage Darkroom's llms.txt and AEO strategy to ensure the brand appears in AI Overviews, Perplexity, ChatGPT, and other emerging answer engines.

• Create content briefs that set up search intent, entity coverage, SERP gaps, and competitive angles prior to a writer starting on a draft.

• Oversee our co-marketing backlink program involving martech, measurement, and AI partners. Manage the partner content calendar and ensure reciprocal obligations are fulfilled.

• Continuously monitor share of voice, SERP changes, and competitor content velocity across DTC and ecommerce sectors.

• Analyze organic performance weekly, focusing on rankings, traffic, and impressions, transforming the data into a strategic perspective. Identify areas to enhance, discontinue, and experiment with.

• Utilize AI tools to scale keyword clustering, on-page optimization, and reporting, converting manual SEO tasks into repeatable workflows whenever feasible.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of SEO experience, whether in an agency, in-house, or freelance capacity.

• Familiarity with Google Search Console, GA4, and at least one SEO tool (Ahrefs, Semrush, or similar).

• A clear perspective on AEO and the impact of AI search on organic strategies.

• Proficient written English, as you will be briefing writers and editing content, making clarity essential.

• Organized and proactive; you keep track of your own work, meet deadlines, and require minimal reminders.

• A genuine curiosity about search; you stay updated on algorithm changes, test hypotheses, and form opinions on effective strategies.

• A systems thinker who prefers devising workflows that solve multiple issues rather than addressing them individually.

• Bonus points: Experience with Framer or similar CMS from an SEO implementation standpoint; knowledge of the ecommerce or DTC landscape; exposure to content strategy or digital PR; adeptness in using AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Perplexity in your daily workflow; and a proven history of personal projects, side sites, or blogs that you have independently developed and grown.
