
Senior Workday Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take charge of the technical execution involving Workday HCM, Payroll, Recruiting, Prism Analytics, and Illuminate.
• Convert business needs into structured phased technical delivery strategies.
• Oversee sandbox strategy, tenant lifecycle management, and biannual release preparedness.
• Configure HCM and Recruiting modules. Develop advanced reports (matrix, composite, BIRT), calculated fields, validations, and business process frameworks.
• Utilize Workday Extend to create and build lightweight custom applications that improve core workflows.
• Maintain scalable security models and uphold governance standards.
• Establish and manage integrations (EIB, Studio, REST/SOAP APIs, RaaS).
• Integrate with various applications including ERP, identity providers, benefits carriers, and third-party systems.
• Ensure the creation of secure, reusable integration frameworks with effective monitoring and error-handling practices.
• Implement and oversee Workday Prism Analytics datasets and dashboards.
• Activate Workday Illuminate capabilities and intelligent workflows.
• Promote automation while adhering to audit and compliance standards.
• Manage Workday security architecture and least-privilege access models.
• Set up enhanced logging and monitoring for access, extracts, and downloads related to sensitive data.
• Guarantee encryption in transit and at rest across integrations and reporting.
• Enforce data masking and scrubbing practices for non-production environments.
• Support compliance with SOX, GDPR, and HIPAA regulations.
• A minimum of 8 years of hands-on Workday technical experience.
• Workday Pro certifications in HCM, Integrations, Security, and Prism.
• Extensive experience in developing Workday integrations (EIB, Studio, APIs).
• In-depth knowledge of security configuration, business process framework design, and reporting.
• Familiarity with Prism Analytics.
• Exposure to Workday Extend.
• Excellent documentation skills with a solid grasp of ITGC controls, change management policies, and operational rigor.
• A mindset geared towards platform ownership with strong technical expertise.
• Experience working in regulated environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex platform initiatives from start to finish.
• Strong communication skills and a governance-focused approach with stakeholders.
