Senior UX Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of UX and UI designs from initial concept to handoff.

• Develop wireframes, user flows, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes.

• Create and sustain components within a dynamic design system.

• Convert complex workflows related to case management, eligibility, and intake into clear and accessible interfaces.

• Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure precise implementation of designs.

• Thoughtfully adjust designs when technical limitations necessitate changes.

• Assist with accessibility evaluations and contribute to achieving WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance.

• Engage in sprint ceremonies, design reviews, and stakeholder demonstrations.

• Work independently within a lean design team and take on additional responsibilities as required.

• Support the Family Portal and Case Management System for families seeking financial assistance for child care across Massachusetts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in UX and UI design.

• A portfolio showcasing a strong sense of visual design and systems thinking.

• Significant experience in launching and maintaining digital products collaboratively.

• Experience collaborating with front-end developers and understanding technically feasible solutions.

• Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

• Proficient in Figma, including components, auto-layout, and prototyping capabilities.

• Comfortable working in agile settings with iterative feedback loops.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate design rationale to non-designers.

• Experience in designing for public services or benefits.

• A background check (CORI) and credentialing review are required prior to system access.

• Must have authorization to work in the United States for any employer.

• Work is required to be conducted in the contiguous United States.

• Must have resided in the United States for at least 3 of the past 5 years.

• Willingness to undergo a background check if selected.

• Portfolio submission is mandatory.
