Senior UI Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• We are seeking a Senior UI Developer to take a pivotal role in the development and enhancement of our operator web portal for a next-generation telecommunications platform.

• You will design user-friendly, high-performance user interfaces that facilitate device lifecycle management on a large scale—working at the intersection of frontend engineering, real-time data, and secure cloud integrations.

• This position has significant impact, allowing you to influence the user experience within a complex SaaS platform, closely collaborating with backend engineers and product teams to provide seamless, scalable solutions.

• You will be instrumental in transforming complex platform capabilities into sleek, user-friendly interfaces for our customers.

• Create Modern Web Experiences by designing, developing, and maintaining a React 18-based operator portal, ensuring responsive and intuitive user interfaces.

• Develop Reusable UI Components and maintain scalable component libraries utilizing Ant Design, ensuring consistency and reusability throughout the platform.

• Integrate with Cloud Services by utilizing AWS AppSync GraphQL APIs and Cognito authentication flows to create secure, real-time user experiences.

• Manage State & Data by implementing effective data-fetching and state management strategies (e.g., React Query, Zustand) for real-time device data.

• Enhance Frontend Performance by optimizing applications for speed and scalability via code-splitting, lazy loading, and caching techniques.

• Collaborate Across Teams by working with backend engineers on API design and schema evolution, while also contributing to UX and design discussions.

• Ensure Quality & Reliability through writing comprehensive unit and integration tests using Jest and React Testing Library, alongside contributing to code reviews and best practices.

• Advocate for User Experience & Accessibility by ensuring that applications adhere to high standards for responsiveness, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong commercial experience in developing production-grade React applications.

• Proven expertise in working with GraphQL APIs (AppSync, Apollo, or similar).

• Experience in implementing authentication flows (e.g., AWS Cognito, OAuth2/OIDC).

• Solid proficiency in using TypeScript within a React codebase.

• Familiarity with component libraries such as Ant Design, MUI, or similar.

• In-depth understanding of React 18 (hooks, context, performance optimization).

• Strong TypeScript skills, including experience with generics and scalable typing patterns.

• Familiarity with modern tooling such as Vite or equivalent.

• Knowledge of state management patterns (React Query, Zustand, or similar).

• Proficient in CSS/SCSS, including responsive design techniques (flexbox, grid).

• Experience with testing frameworks like Jest and React Testing Library.

• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS platforms at scale (Nice to Have).

• Familiarity with AWS services (AppSync, Cognito, S3, CloudFront) (Nice to Have).

• Understanding of web performance optimization techniques (Nice to Have).

• Awareness of accessibility standards (WCAG) (Nice to Have).

• Experience working with design systems and UX best practices (Nice to Have).
